Charlotte Kalin, Make Trade Sweden, this year has nominated two women for the IWEC Awards. We are very pleased to have them join us at the 12th Annual IWEC Foundation Conference being held in New Delhi, India November 10th-13th. These ladies will receive their awards from IWEC Chairwoman and Former US Ambassador, Ruth A. Davis and IWEC Conference Chairwoman, Princess Noor Asem of Jordan at the Awards Ceremony on Tuesday November 12th.

Maria Frykman is the co-founder and owner as well as CEO of Nordic KidsWear AB, which is a brand providing functional outdoor wear for children in the range of 0-16 years. Maria has a degree in Master of Science in Engineering and Marketing as well as a career within Accenture during 1995-2005 as a Management Consultant, mainly focusing on Change Management and Human Perfomence. In 2005, Maria became an entrepreneur and founded Nordic KidsWear AB together with another female entrepreneur in Sweden. The business is global and its focus is to be sustainable in all aspects.
The company does business in Scandanavia, Europe, UK, Canada, Japan and Russia. They wish to expand in the US and China.
Karin Lindahl, CEO, Indiska, www.indiska.se
Before starting to work at Indiska, Karin worked for 6 years as a consultant at McKinsey & Company. She focused her work in the retail sector and specialized in turnarounds and transformations. She then was appointed CEO in the summer of 2017 and a few months later, she took over ownership of 100% of the shares of the company. Indiska was founded in 1901 by a Swedish woman who opened one store in central Stockholm based on Indian home products and grew to include fashion. It also expanded to Norway and Finland. The company focuses on offering sustainably produced goods for wardrobe and home.
The company is doing business in Sweden, Norway an Finland with a franchise in Germany. Products and goods are being imported from India, China, Turkey and Bangladesh. The would like to expand to the UK, Southern Europe and India.
