OFFICE OF THE MAYOR
MAYOR’S OFFICE FOR INTERNATIONAL AFFAIRS
September 2016
Dear Colleague:
I am pleased to share with you a new resource created by the City of New York that may be relevant to you and your network. Today we launched the new International Business website to help international businesses come to NYC and succeed once they’re here.
This new site – www.nyc.gov/internationalbusiness – is intended to be a one-stop-shop for international businesses, providing information about NYC programs, economic data by industry, guidance on setting up a new office, and more. International businesses have specific needs and challenges, and now they have a centralized hub to find tailored information and support from New York City.
This website is a collaboration between the NYC Mayor’s Office for International Affairs and the NYC Economic Development Corporation, and includes information from additional government entities – City, State, and Federal.
Almost half of all NYC’s businesses are owned by foreign-born New Yorkers. These businesses are vital to our economy and are a central part of our city’s social fabric and history. We embrace international entrepreneurs making NYC their home, and this website helps bring that tradition into the digital era.
We hope that this website will be helpful for your communities, and we encourage you to share it with your network. We also plan to keep improving it, and we welcome any feedback – please feel free to send suggestions or questions to ibusiness@cityhall.nyc.gov.
Thank you,
