The IWEC Foundation honored 33 women entrepreneurs from across the globe at its 17th Annual Conference, held at the beautiful IESE campus in Barcelona from February 9-11, 2025. These women are now part of the IWEC family, which has recognized 575 women entrepreneurs since the foundation’s inception in 2007.  The contribution of all of these women adds up to $50.4 billion to the global economy while employing almost half a million people.  They hail from 47 countries and are linked to our 50 chamber of commerce and women’s business association partners.

The conference included a tribute to the organization’s founders, engaging educational content on various topics, and a gala dinner at the historic Llotja de Mar, where the awardees were presented with their trophies.

Sessions given by experts in their fields covered a range of subjects, including the global economy, artificial intelligence, sustainability, the orange economy, global payment systems, and more. A highlight of the event was an interview with Spanish Paralympian swimmer Teresa Perales, conducted by IESE Professor Nuria Chinchilla. Teresa has won more medals than the legendary swimmer Michael Phelps. Beyond her athletic achievements, Perales is a passionate advocate for the Paralympic Movement, sharing her experiences to inspire the next generation of athletes. Her perseverance serves as a true inspiration for women leaders everywhere.
