Maria Feijoo Avila, Managing Director, Maderera Nueva Era, SAC, www.madereranuevaera.com
“At 18 years old I realized a woman’s life could be more than mothering and being a wife. Thus, I started working for Maderera Nueva Era, a company specializing in wood and wood products.” I began differentiating us from our competitors by demonstrating our active role in society and by identifying 5 new wood species that could be commercialized in our country. Our mission is to continue this work to make sure our rainforest is not predated by informal wood companies. We believe it is necessary to find one’s purpose in life and we strive to find it through our work.
The company does business with China, Singapore, and other South American countries. They would like to expand to the United States, Italy and Finland as these are countries that have mastered the art of wood work.
