The Istanbul Chamber of Commerce has nominated two awardees from Turkey for the 2019 IWEC Awards. We are very pleased to have them join us at the 12th Annual IWEC Foundation Conference being held in New Delhi, India November 10th-13th. Zehra and Sultan will receive their awards from IWEC Chairwoman and Former US Ambassador, Ruth A. Davis and IWEC Conference Chairwoman, Princess Noor Asem of Jordan at the Awards Ceremony on Tuesday November 12th.

Sultan Tepe is an Electric and Electronic engineer and CEO of Tepar Filament Yarns Corp which produces innovative filament and recycled yarns. The company was formed in 1992 and began to export cotton waste for recycling to more than 35 countries around the world. They were the 1st company in Turkey to export to China in 1996. During her 25-year tenure, Sultan oversaw operations and strategic planning that resulted in net profit increases in more than 30 percent and resulted in 3 patented technologies. Zehra Cataltepe, CEO, Tazi Al Systems, www.tazi.ai
Zehra Cataltepe is the CEO and Co-Founder of tazi.ai, one of four Gartner Cool Vendors Worldwide in AI Core Technologies.. At Tazi, her aim is to help transform machine learning into a technology that can be used easily and is useful for everyone. Zehra has worked at Bell Labs and in Siemens Corporate Research. In academia, she has been teaching graduate level Machine Learning and Pattern Recognition courses and has supervised 6 Ph.D. and 21 M.Sc. theses. She has 18 patents and over 90 publications on theory of machine learning and its applications in finance, health, energy and transportation.
