How IWEC Selects Awardees
In order to be considered as an IWEC Foundation Awards recipient, female business owners and their companies must fulfill the following criteria:
The majority shareholder is female.
The company has been in business for at least 3 years.
The business generates a minimum annual revenue of US$ 1.5 million.
The female entrepreneur is being nominated by an IWEC chamber partner, affiliate organization, past awardee or corporate sponsor.
The nominee must demonstrate social responsibility either through CSR program(s) established within the business and/or by contributing and giving back to her respective community.
The IWEC Foundation chambers, women business organization partners and past awardees nominate awardees each year. All applications are reviewed by our Awards Committee in terms of business achievements, engagement in CSR/local charity programs, potential for future growth, and other criteria.
All winners are notified ahead of time to ensure enough time to make arrangements for travel to the Annual Conference. Individuals unable to accept their award in-person, will be replaced by a runner-up.
Our Awards Ceremony is a key part of the IWEC Foundation’s Annual Conference. In addition to the year’s awardees being introduced to our network throughout the conference, the Awards Ceremony serves to celebrate these outstanding female entrepreneurs and honor their achievements.
