IWEC 2018 Conference Gala – Honored 47 Successful Women Business Owners from Around the World
IWEC’s 11th Annual Conference took place last week on the campus of CEIBS in Shanghai China. Over 350 attended the conference to listen to keynote speakers and panelists discuss doing business in China as well as to meet and honor 47 women from 18 countries. The conference was led by our Chairwoman, Ruth A. Davis and Conference Co-Chairwoman, Yan Lang, Sun Media Group, Beijing.
Some stats on our honorees:
Our 47 awardees have a combined annual revenue of $1.7 billion dollars and they collectively employ 48,442. The industries range from engineering & construction to manufacturing of clothing and textiles to fashion, energy supply, marketing, agribusiness, food services & beverages to hospitality and education. The combined number of years of business experience our awardees have had is 825 years!
72% of our awardees sit on for-profit boards of directors.
The age range of our awardees runs from one person under 30 to five women over 61. The majority of our awardees are in the 41-50 and 51-60 age range.
80% of our awardees are married and the combined number of children they have is 78. We hope many of them will be future awardees!
Our awardees speak 30 different languages.
One statistic we believe in-that successful women business owners played sports when they were growing up- is proven by our awardee’s statistics in that 90% of our awardees did play sports. The range of sports are both team and individual sports including badminton, volleyball, netball, swimming, jogging, basketball, track & field, soccer, martial arts, cycling, tennis, golf, hockey, gymnastics, horseback riding, skiing, squash, lacrosse, softball & even shot put!
