Shilpi Biswas, Am-Cham Shanghai, this year has nominated two women for the IWEC Awards. We are very pleased to have them join us at the 12th Annual IWEC Foundation Conference being held in New Delhi, India November 10th-13th. These ladies will receive their awards from IWEC Chairwoman and Former US Ambassador, Ruth A. Davis and IWEC Conference Chairwoman, Princess Noor Asem of Jordan at the Awards Ceremony on Tuesday November 12th.

Chandrika’s father ran a small embroidery business, which perhaps was the inspiration to have a flourishing career in fashion in the future. Capital World specializes in yarns, fabrics and finished apparel. She joined the family’s 40-year-old business and helped it expand into textiles and garments and eventually became its CEO. Her vision for the company is to be a global apparel manufacturer which core values in which the customer comes first, keeping them at the forefront in all aspects of product design, production and delivery. Chandrika is the Past President of the Indian Association based in Shanghai. Chandrika has lived in Hong Kong,Taipei, and currently resides in Shanghai.
The company is doing business with Brazil, Italy, Spain, Germany, Poland, Russia, UAE, Mexico & the US. They would like to expand further in the US and expand to the UK, France, Canada, Australia and Japan.

Sonali is an entrepreneur, investor, mentor, technologist, curious traveler and a mom. She is the founder of Augment Ventures. Starting her career with Price Waterhouse Coopers, she managed M&A, privatization and administered US Aid projects. She then branched out and formed her own company nine years ago. Sonali works with and invests in exceptional teams transforming the way we live and work using software and smart hardware to impact energy, sustainability and health and wellness. Her clients include entrepreneurs, technologists and CEO’s. She serves on several boards of directors and has won numerous awards.
The company is doing business in the US, UK and China. Sonali wishes to expand in Asia and Africa, particularly Kenya.
